Job Summary:
The Audio Video (AV) Project Manager will oversee and execute AV projects, ensuring quality, timeliness, and budget adherence. This role involves working closely with clients, vendors, and internal teams to deliver customized AV solutions that meet clients’ specific needs. The AV Project Manager will coordinate resources, manage schedules, and handle any issues that arise to guarantee smooth project delivery from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Execution
- Define project scopes, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with clients and stakeholders.
- Create and manage detailed project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
- Lead kick-off meetings and coordinate communication between clients, internal teams, and vendors.
- Oversee the procurement, installation, and testing of AV equipment and solutions.
- Develop and monitor risk management plans to mitigate potential issues.
- Team and Client Coordination
- Manage and assign tasks to AV technicians, designers, and subcontractors.
- Act as the main point of contact for clients throughout project lifecycles, providing updates, addressing concerns, and ensuring satisfaction.
- Ensure all project documentation is complete, accurate, and available for future reference.
- Quality Assurance and Compliance
- Conduct site assessments and inspections to ensure project specifications and standards are met.
- Oversee testing and commissioning of AV systems to ensure quality and functionality.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety protocols, and client requirements.
- Reporting and Documentation
- Track project progress and prepare regular status reports for stakeholders.
- Document changes to project scope, timelines, or costs and obtain client approvals.
- Close projects with comprehensive handover and post-installation support documentation.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Education and Experience
- 5+ years of project management experience in the audio-video or related industry.
- Proven track record of managing AV installations or similar technology projects.
- Technical Skills
- In-depth understanding of AV technologies, including displays, sound systems, video conferencing, and control systems.
- Proficiency in project management software and collaboration tools (e.g., Teams).
- Familiarity with AV standards and protocols (HDMI, AV-over-IP, etc.) and industry certifications (CTS, CTS-D, or PMP) are a plus.
- Project Management Skills
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Budget management experience, with the ability to track costs and make adjustments as necessary.
